About this tour
Discover Zadar's rich history, coastal charm, and hidden corners in a fun and eco-friendly way – aboard our 100% electric tuk tuk! This private 75-minute tour is the perfect way to experience the city comfortably and with a local touch.
Full description
The tour begins at the Sea Organ, the world-famous architectural installation where steps descend into the Adriatic and the movement of waves is converted into music through a series of pipes beneath. Your driver will tell you the story behind it — and about the nearby Greeting to the Sun, the solar-powered light installation that puts on a show every evening.
From the waterfront the tuk tuk glides silently into the Old Town, threading through lanes too narrow for most vehicles. The Roman Forum at the heart of the old city is one of the largest and best-preserved in the eastern Adriatic — your driver will bring it to life with stories of two thousand years of continuous habitation, from Roman colony to medieval Croatian city to a Venetian republic stronghold.
Next, the Venetian fortifications: the Land Gate, the most impressive city gate on the Dalmatian coast, and the sea-facing walls that sheltered Zadar through decades of Ottoman siege. Standing at the top of the walls, you get a panoramic view out over the islands that frames the whole tour perfectly.
The final stretch follows the coastal promenade south to Kolovare beach — a favourite of locals and the place where Zadar goes to swim, walk, and watch the sun set behind the islands. Your driver will point out the best spots for coffee, dinner, and the quieter corners that most visitors never find.
Throughout the tour your driver adapts to your interests — more history, more food tips, more photography stops, or simply more speed through the lanes. The tuk tuk is silent enough to have a proper conversation, and small enough to go where the buses can't.
